VPN stands for Virtual Private Network and enables the establishment of secure and trustworthy connections between networks or computers using unsecure media such as the Internet. VPN uses encryption to protect the communication against unauthorised interception and manipulation.

The areas of application are broad: VPN is used for communication between companies and their branches, subsidiaries, employees working from home and in the field, as well as for communication from and with machines. As a communication interface, VPN allows complete exchange in both directions. Thanks to special configurations, access can be controlled in a targeted manner. This means that certain applications, such as the control of remote systems, can only be enabled for authorised connections.

The key:

Networks and computers do not need to be alike, and different operating systems work without any problems, as VPN functionality is independent: VPN clients only need Internet access to virtually map company networks and access central data or applications as if they were on site.

Because data loss is not funny:

Data loss is annoying, causes stress, and has many reasons: hardware damage, cyberattacks or even human errors. With a well-thought-out backup strategy, lost data can be quickly restored. We advise you on individual solutions, implement backups, and ensure maximum availability. In an emergency, we can quickly restore your data so that business can continue running smoothly. Depending on your needs, we use different backup options. Combinations are also possible.

Internal backup at your premises:

The backup hardware can be a server, a secondary server, or storage system, depending on your requirements. What is important: it is installed directly at your premises. Be aware that a second location should be available so that your backup can be sufficiently separated from the original data. This is the only way to ensure that your data remains protected and available at all times, even in the event of incidents such as fire or flooding. We tailor the backup intervals to your needs. Backups run automatically for example at night or in sync with your data volume. You have direct access to your backups.

External backup at X-Net:

Your data is stored securely in our Austrian data centers. Data is transferred via secure connections and all data is stored in encrypted form. Data can be accessed via VPN. Staging is available, enabling access to older data.

Whether directly on our servers, on your own storage system (storage housing), or on hard drives, we offer flexible backup solutions. In an emergency, the data is quickly available to minimise downtime.

More performance, less hardware:

With virtualisation, you divide your hardware which can consist of individual servers or clusters into multiple virtual servers. This means that multiple applications can use the available resources simultaneously. Virtual servers are largely independent of hardware and can be easily copied, enabling rapid recovery in the event of hardware failures. Virtualisation also provides greater security, as services and applications are separated and isolated from each other. If one application is hacked, the rest of your network remains protected.

Changes are only saved when instructed, and updates are performed without functional changes. Your configuration always remains as it is. Perfect for complex requirements in companies.
