Our Customer

Obermayr Holzkonstruktionen GesmbH is a timber construction company specialising in structural timber engineering and glued laminated timber. Its business areas include the construction of halls, office buildings, multi-story residential buildings, and various special structures made of glued laminated timber and large-volume timber elements, as well as the manufacture of glued laminated timber with a focus on special components, which are produced at its own site.

Initial Situation

The requirement

Complex administrative and planning tasks such as warehouse management, production planning, and reporting were handled within the company using Excel spreadsheets. A new ERP system was to be implemented. However, since glulam production is highly complex and customised, integrating production-related processes into a standard ERP system did not make much sense. Developing specially tailored custom software was therefore unavoidable.

That is what we have implemented

Our solution is tailored precisely to the customer's requirements and needs. Thanks to the completely customised development, processes and constraints could be taken into account without having to make any compromises. Vincent covers the areas of ordering, warehouse management, production planning and production, delivery note creation, and invoicing. The processes in work preparation and production planning range from ordering the required wood in the right quality and condition to coordinating storage and drying intervals to planning production with the aim of optimising capacity utilisation and stock levels. The now automatic checks monitor the plans and immediately report capacity bottlenecks, necessary orders, etc. In addition, future capacity utilisation is visible, enabling planning reliability. Daily checks to see whether there is enough wood, capacity, etc. enable optimisation of warehousing and production.
